Flood situation in Hunan in June, 2010

Heavy rains dropped in southern China continuously in June 2010, which leading to serious floods once in several years experience in many areas. Hunan Province which is by Xiangjiang River had become one of the affected areas.

Xinhua News Agency said the Xiangjiang River water level has exceeded the warning water level of 2.5 meters. Ministry of Civil Affairs Command officials warned that: "Xiangjiang River water levels are still rising in low-lying, will not subside later, but will also exceeded warning levels once again.

Reported in parts of Hunan Province, heavy rain will aggressively cut on Wednesday and Thursday, rainfall reached 180 mm which will make the rivers in this area have to maintain "full" state recently.

Heavy rain has hit southern China for more than a week, which leads killed at least 211 people and more than 100 missing; debris blocking traffic,rivers and reservoirs are widespread and uncurbed.
